Good Morning to all
I finaly have had some sucess getting my frogfish to eat silversliders yesterday. I purchased the fish at my LFS about 2 weeks ago. I was starting to get a little on edge with the fish not eating. But as of now he is happy and full. I do have one question for some one who might have or had a frogfish. How often do they eat. It seams like they should not need to be feed buy once a week. They dont exert any energy by doing anything. But its a cool looking fish. I have a gray stone looking colored fish and with the live rock and corals I have in the tank some times it is hard to find him, he blends in so well. Also can you keep more then one per tank. I would like to get a red of mulit color frogfish.

The frog fish was not a fish i realy wanted but a friend who owns a fish store receivd it in a shipment. I thought it was cool so I took it home. Now its on of my favorit fish. Its takes time to grow on you. I would realy like to have a second one in the tank but I think i will hold off to see how this one does. I think Im over the hump with getting the fish to eat and I will start keeping a spread sheet on feedings. I keep a spread sheet on all my tanks and fish.

When I first got the frog fish it was tough. I used a feeding prong and just kept at it every day. Finaly sucess. This is a cool fish even though they dont do much. My frog fish blends in so well with my rock in the tank I have trouble finding him. But I have noticed he is gaining a little more color now that he is eating and is not scared in the tank. I would get another one in a second. Has any one ever had more then one per tank.

I don't belive they are lickly to fight, but the larger one is likley to eat the smaller (and it doesn't need to be very much larger)...

Good Morning Every one,
I have the frog fish in with my Fuman Chu lion fish and they seem to be fine together.
I gave the frog fish a silverslider yesterday and WOW what a mouth on them. I never seen a fish open its mouth that big and that fast.
My frog fish is starting to gaing awsome color. Looks like he is starting to gain some red spots on his side.
I will be posting some picture soon.

Volitan100,
Its not that the fish is active. The frog fish does not move very much at all. The fish is just one of those that not many people want in there tank beacuse they dont do much. I take pride in every fish I place into my tanks. I talk about the good and the bad that happens to my fish. The frog fish is an awsome sight to see when it eats. They change colors a little depending where they are in the tank and what they are sitting on. Some times this fish is sitting on a rock and right in front of your face and you dont even see it. Like I said I take pride in every fish and I am proud to talk about every fish I have in my tanks.

muskyhunte,
I'm really thinking about getting an angler. What one do you have again? Do they need LOTS of rock work?

My frog fish (Angler) is about 2 inches long. I have him in a 40 gallon tank with about 40 pounds of rock. I did a lot of reading on them and from what I gather they live around reefs. I dont know if i would put on in my reef tank beacuse they can eat a fish its size. From what my LFS told me I have a white frog fish but it more of a greay or stone color. From reading on the web they will change color to blend in . There are times I have a hard time sinding this fish in my tank and its sitting in fromt of me on the rocks. Between my FU Manchu and the Frog Fish these are pride and joy. I do have my Fu Manchu in the same tank as the frog fish. I attached a picture of a frog fish from the web so you can see the coloe of my fish. I will post picture of my tanl later when I get home from work.
