Frogspawn Coral (Question)

They are one of the easier corals to keep if you have good strong lighting and good water conditions.

They can be kept under Power Compacts, VHO's, and MH. They are, like puffer32 said, one of the easier corals to keep. It's cool to watch them come out when the lights turn on.

They feed from the water column, but can be spot fed with like say, a turkey baster.

They can be spot fed, however, do well IMHO under moderate current with feedings by way of the water column. Here's mine after two years (I got it with just one head)......

What a beauty, do they need to go in a mature tank, or could they go in a new one?

No coral is not supposed to go into a new tank. I don't really believe that to an extent. I start out with easy softies once my tanks cycle. If all is well and healthy I go with something that requires more stable water conditions lps. My latest tank has been set up for 6 months, At 4 months I got afew lps, and the last few weeks I added a clam, anenome, and an sps, but I worked up to the more difficult stuff, of course the type lighting you have determines what you can eventually add.

true enough. I have mine on the top of my reef under T-5's where the water just gently sways the tentacles slowly. I have a pink and am imperial green and both are forming new pods. I never directly feed my spawns.

I have mine under T5 also, but farther down in the tank.

had mine for months, did great under PC's ....then switched to MH's, and its doing better.... split 2 or 3 new heads since I've had it. I'll randomly spot feed it. ...maybe time to frag?
