the title says it all. I have a nice little empty spot next to my frogspawn and I'm wondering what's a good coral like use to fill that space. anyone have suggestions for a good coral that either can't be harmed by frogspawn or frogspawn won't bother? Thanks in advance! :)

Once again, you are right Gemmy! Let me see...
I got nothin'. Frogspawns have pretty long sweeping tentacles that can sting (nematocyst stinging cells) nearby corals. In general, you have to keep it a minimum of 6" away from all other corals. It takes up a lot of real estate in an aquarium.
It's from the family Euphillia, it's specifically E. divisa. Frogspawns, when they start to show signs of tissue recession, are good signs of poor water quality. They don't do well in aquariums with a lot of soft corals for some reason.

Hmm strange. I must have the worlds friendliest frogspawn. Ive had other corals near it before and its never been a problem. Ive even had an sps next to it for a few weeks and the ony
reason I moved it was because I felt the sps wasnt getting enough light.
Even now froggy has been sitting about an inch away from a pulsing xenia for over a month and both corals are doing great.
I suppose if I want to try my luck further and place another coral by the frowgspawn I should keep it within the same family... So Ill keep my eyes out for a good looming hammer or torch to fill the space.

Well, just keep it out of direct water flow. A strong current makes the sweeper tentacles come out and sting nearby corals.
If you have other corals already so close to it, why did you need help picking out corals to put beside it if it's already not a problem? Just curious...

Haha because to the right of the frogspawn is a big flat topped section of rock that is just begging to be the base of a sweet new coral ;-)

Both of my frogspawns behave themselves as well. You could try some mushrooms, the Frogspawn should leave them alone.

ome hammers would be a nice addition, I have mine rather close and they are both hosting a clown. Shrooms too would be good.

Haha well my wife did spot a really great looking Australian neon green Hammer Coral that she liked over the weekend... then she asked me if for Christmas if it would be ok if instead of buying me gifts would I be happy if she just took me to the store and treat me to a coral shopping spree. I took the hint and said hell yes! lol.
