Frogspawn Placement

Hello,
I have a 20 gallon long(12 inches deep) with 165 PC lighting.
Can the frogspawn thrive living in the sand or does it require to be on the rock?

it would probably be good to have it on a rock, maybe half way up or so, in medium current. Hope that helps.

Here is mine...18" from 250 w MH light. In medium flow. Doubled in size since intro to tank 3 mo ago.
