from wavpoint to LED's

I am currently running a wavepoint 4 lampT-5 unit on my 56G column. Recently I have been looking into some LED's and unable to locate the storm LED's a member currently has, so I have been researching the Ecoray LED 60D and the 120D.
I am wondering if anyone has used these fixures or know anyone who has and what there thoughts were.

Are you referring to the AI units, and can simulate cloud covering and lighting storms?
yes, yes I was looking for those but could not find them. But then i saw these LED's by ecoray and fell for them. I like the other ones due to the carefree of the lighting on and off but I'm sure there more than what I can afford.

I see the 120d listed at from $509 - $559. The AI Sol super blue was 4625 delivered with the controller.
The Ecoray uses 1 watt LED but does use many more than the AI. The AI uses 3 watt Crees.
I considered the Ecoray but was sold by the infinite adjustment capabilities of the AI and that it was a good fit for the 29 biocube. The Ecoray has one power cord for white and one for blue. If you want any adjustment you will have to add a controller to the module.

I would look into the SWC Xtreme Cree LED 60 Watt fixture it sells for about $350 and claims to be equal to 250w MH fixture.

You have one awesome light system too... how did you program it to do what you wanted?
With the controler............

They are really easy set-ups. They have great features. And simple to set up and change. It doesn't even come with instructions on how to do it (At least my brand new in the box one did not).... its that simple!

The controller that comes with the system. I believe there are either 8 or 10 timers that you can use to ramp up and down the lighting intensity throughout the lighting period as well as a moon setting where with the internal moon cycle parameters the moon light follows the actual cycle of the moon. There are nights where there are no lights at all on the tank and when you check outside there is no moon either. Other nights where the moon lights are brighter and you look outside and there is a full moon.

I bet that looks real nice at night when the moon lights are on. Are they the blue M.L.? Or dim white? Lol.... Now you got me courious.

The moon light option uses the Cree XP-E blue and XP-E royal blues leds set up in the controller to run at 3% intensity. (Note whites are off for moon simulation) Then the controller varies the intensity depending on what cycle of the moon is relative to that day. A full on full moon day would have the LED's running at the 3% mark and anything less that a full moon adjusted downward accordingly.

It uses 12 or 14 (I'm not home but I will check and make it the right number when I get home) timers that can do one color to all three colors to do what you want to. They have a ramp up/down period of 240 minutes to as little as 1 minute.

Moon cycle AI recomends using 4% or higher... so you get the full cycle. And you can use a combination of whites, blues and royals to accomplish it. I run on my moon cycle 5% royals only, and love it! (Running whites gives a criper white moon light imo, so it can be used)

ya when I went scuba diving in the bahamas there was a full moon out and it looked more white than blue. But I do like the blues too

I Laugh cause I kept asking how do you do this how do you do that, I was finally told that its a light of personal choice... you do what you want to do with it! And make it what you want.
