Frozen Formula Foods - Silly question

Ok bare with me as I'm used to carnivores, herbovoires, or pellet eaters...clean clear, simple.
These frozen formula foods have me puzzled. They pop out of the container in a frozen cube, but how do you feed them?
Thaw them in a cup and cut them up so they can go everywhere? Drop them in and let them sink to the bottom and get blown under the LR.
WHat's the trick to these foods? They are in a jello like stuff that does not make them fall apart easily.
Sorry for such a stupid beginner question, just never had a fish that ate this stuff.

I like to get disposable paper cups for this.
Drop cube into paper cup filled with tank water. Let thaw and pour.

I let them thaw in a cup with tank water, but then I grind them up so it will spread.
How do I grind it?
...........with my fingers.

Drop the cube in the net while its in the tank... it melts and the fish are used to seeing the net in the tank. Makes it easier to catch them sometimes too since they learn that the net brings food...
