I have a 150 gallon, and water changes are a breeze with a sump. Inhabitants don't even get bothered.
I agree... I have a 72 bow and am strongly thinking about buying one that is pre-drilled so I can have a sump w/o having to worry about a siphon over the back. I had one in my 55 gal and it was perfect to add meds, water, etc. Plus it houses all of your equipment to free up the back of your tank.
