Fuge/Copepods Question

I need help in seeding a fuge with copepods. I have a fuge setup for a month now. I bought a bottle of copepods and poured it in, hoping they would multiply and I'll have a supply of pods for months to come. They didn't last a day... not sure if they died or got all sucked up the pump to my main tank.
Any ideas on how to do properly do this? Should I turn the circulation off on the fuge until they breed and multiply?

How do you know they are not there? They are not exactly easy to spot. Try turning off the lights for a while and then shining a flash light maybe an hour or two after everything has been pitch black. You might be able to see them running around.

The bottle I poured in is made by Reef Nutrition. The name of the product is Tigger Pods... It says "Large Red Copepods 250-1700 microns." The species name is "Tigriopus californicus."
I did not turn the lights off when I poured them in. These pods were easily visible due to they were red and fairly large.
I checked with a flash light after two hours of total darkness... there were a bunch of pods that are very small and almost invincible in color.

I just dont know what happened to the red ones I put in.

Tigger pods live in coldwater and do not reproduce well in our warm tanks. They're great for live feedings albeit an expensive treat. An easier solution would be to get a clump of chaeto from an established fuge and wait. If you would rather buy pods, tisbe pods will live/breed in warm tanks but they are too small to see.

Ive had really good luck with a jar of DT's pods. poured it in 3 months ago and now I have so many they are all over my glass all the time. you can always tell when a new hatch happens because i get hundreds of little white specs moving around on my glass.
