hey, I just completed my fuge for above my tank. It is working very good as far as the concept but I have some slow leaks as shown on my poor attempt at a diagram. I did use teflon tape on the threaded parts and silicone were I could.
If it is not tight enough it could be leaking because it has not made a seal. If it has been over tightened it could have cracks. Do you plan to remove the ball valve? If not you could glue the threads.

I suggest glueing (PVC Glue) the elbows that leak. They're cheap so if you need to change them you just toss 'em and get new ones.
