Fuge help!

Can you guys give me an idea how to set this up? cause im goin to make the 10g a fuge for my 29.

You need a pump to pump it up. Then the water can just flow down with the other pipe in that pic. What is it that you don't understand, the baffles or something esle?

do i need the hole that is goin back to the main tank up high also?

You need the hole, but it's sake if the syphone ever got broken. The water would just keep pumping. No good. Lots of water on the floor.

I'm not sure what they meant by siphon... There is no siphon in that picture. It's gravity fed. When the water in the fuge gets below the hole, it stops...
Leaks would be bad though...
You will need to get a hole cut in the fuge at the highest point of the water level in the tank. Probably 3 or so inches from the top would be good. Bulkhead connector and pipe or tubing, etc...
All in all, I think that would do it for you...

If you dont want to worry about leaks and can afford it.. get an overflow... Just put the return pump in your second tank since you are not using a Wet/Dry.

I'm glad to see that people out there like my design. Good luck with it. It was fairly simple to do.
pump - $60
piping - 10
hole cut - 20
glass baffles - 12
sand - 25
plants - 10
rock - 10
I'll post a picture soon of the finished product.

I like the design... And if I had the space, I'd do the same. I just don't have the space...
On the pump, "I've read here..." that what you want to shoot for is about a 7x turnover per hour on your Refugium... (i.e. 20gal ref = 140gph pump "or so" feeding the fuge)
