Fuge Help

Have my fuge setup for over 4 months now and i have a real bad break out in diatoms. I mean everything is rusty looking. Also i have alot of neon green algae that brushes off and looks like i am getting small patches of cyno. I have 2 baseball size chaeto in there that has not really gown any in 3 months and even the chaeto is covered in diatoms. Am i using the wrong light on the fuge? I have a 65 watt PC bulb, it is one plug but it is 2 bulbs one is white the other is blue. Also what light would you recommend me getting? I heard about ones from Home Depot.

is it an actinic bulb, or just a blue bulb? if it's just a blue bulb, it's worthless. I know this sounds like a silly question, but believe it or not, there are actually aquarium light fixtures that are sold with "blue bulbs" that are not actinic.

Yes it is blue. I thought that too, because it doesn't look like a actinic. How about the light form Home Depot? Anyone know what kind i should get for a 20gal fuge, and what is the name of the fixture and what kind of bulb?

I would just get a regular bulb (not actinic or blue), I have a regular 65 watt shop bulb on my fuge and it works fine
