Fuge lighting question

I just set up a fuge. What is the consensus on how long to run the lighting? I seem to remember someone discussing running them 24/7. I have a fighting conch in there and I'm concerned that much light will drive him batty. :sleepy: Any input is appreciated!

I run mine usually 24hours a day...an alternative would be opposite of your display tank lighting...

Thanks for the reply guys... one more thing... It seems like the water at the surface of the fuge doesn't move much, if any. Do I need to install a powerhead or something else to circulate the water better?

A PH will help in a fuge with breakup up things at the surface as well as helping the macro grow.

Kip, what do you use for your fuge if you dont use a powerhead for water movement? I noticed my macro doesnt grow well withought some current in the fuge.

My fuge tank is 28"L X 11 1/2"W X 16"H. I don't have the pump doing anything else but return to my display.
