whats in it? corals? if you dont have a reef tank, dont even bother with the refuge, its just another project that doesnt need to be done

Its a full blown reef.. I have no problem with my DT .. Its awsome! I just want a BIGGER refuge! Cause I want lower Nitrates.. and because my protien skimmer is big and its taking up room for my lights so i want to put the skimmer on the fuge as well as the UV sterlizer ( which is a topic I dont wanna get into, I have had the UV on for 2 years.. and its staying on )

ok buddy, im not gonna argue with you anymore...just want you to think about how a pipe will flow with a stopped pump, with a check valve stopping the flow of the water? your worried about if one pump fails over the other, how bout get one of those dual pumps in one...so if one fails, they both fail..if you so worried about one failing

good keep the uv and keep the skimmer...a 20g would be a perfect fuge for your reef tank

Basically for the overflow, if you look at the end with the white thing hangs outside the tank, the other end obviously hangs inside. If you look at the black bulkhead, that is where you attach your vinyl flexi tubing and run it to your fuge. The water is fed from your DT via gravity to sump. Then the return pump pumps it back to DT.

It goes by GPH, so whatever your lil heart desires, you want the water fairly slow moving through the fuge, for more contact time. Plus you will need to put some dividers in your 20, IF you want to put your skimmer in there. You dont want to get micro bubbles back into your DT!

Im sure i can figure that out.. at least i hope>.> cause right now i have a hob skimmer but it can also be a in sump.. ( so excited about getting that off my DT! )
