I have read alot about fuges but have never really understood the point of one. Can someone please help with out making fun of me for this stupid question. I know you can grow things like algaes and pods. How do you get the pods to the dt from the fuge though. sorry.

after they populate the fuge they will migrate up your plumbing to the main tank. also the algaes that we throw in can take over the main tank effectively shocking out the corals and other things in the tank so isolateing them keeps this from happening.
Therer are alot of benifits those are the main ones but it also gives you a place to put suspect critters that show up in the tank.

its not an absolute have to have item*fuge* and a tank can be succesful without one. as far as the QT I have to say yes it is. even though the fish may have been uch free for a month there are many fish that come in and out of there system and always risking bringing them in. also alot of LFS' have a much lower slainity to keep in a dormant stage of sorts and soon as the fish is stressed it will bring them out on the fish. The only way to absolutely know that you arent bringing in anything is to QT them.

QT'ing new arrivals is always a good idea. The situation you describe might be all right, depending on how the fish has been housed at the LFS. Odds are, it's been with lots of other fish in a system that connects all their tanks. If it's been isolated, though, you might be able to get away with it. I would still recommend QT'ing the fish for a little while.

Qting fish is always the best way to go no matter what!
As far as the fuge is concerned I don't have one yet, will someday!
But with a fuge , you get to hide all of the powerheads and such, you also add more water volume.
Also you are able to increase your filteration considerably and ofcourse it allows you a place to grow macro/micro alges which are also good for your system!
