alright so im starting my (mini) fuge compared to evryone elses on this site and i was wondering if i can use regular gravel instead of cc. im goin to have piece of live rock in there and a maidens hair. and im going to try and breed the pods. hope it works. o yea also could i use just the light from my ceiling light for it?

I would use sand. If your only growing pods then the light is fine. Some dont even use lights for pods.

so i could use no lights even if i put a piece of maiden hair in there

That will need light to grow and for photosynthesis. Not an expert on maidens hair so i dont know how much light they require.

this will hopefully be the last question. so can u tell me what i will need to get the water from the fuge to the main tank and back?

Maybe the other way around. From tank to fuge you can use an overflow box. Then from fuge back to tank use a strong pump. Make sure your pump and overflow box gph rates match i.e overflow box has 700gph pump has 1000 gph but after back pressure lose has 700gph. Dont know if youll get that:notsure: im not good at explaining things.

I have my fuge set up so that it just drains back into the display. I uses a powerhead to pump water into the fuge and then it just drains back into the display through a hole I drilled. Also, I only have a small light on my fuge (18watt of NO...I believe). Makes the cheato grow pretty well but not great. Nitrates have been at 0 for 7-8 months though...HTH.:happy:
