Fuji rock would come from a mountian in Japan and wouldn't be appropriate in a SWA. Fiji Islands live rock, on the other hand tends to be more porous, thus being lighter than many other live rocks, making it cheaper to ship. The porous nature of the rock also gives it termedous surface area for beneficial bacteria to grow on.

I have some Fiji and Marshal island rock. IMO I would buy marshal island rock because of the testure. Reason being I have seen a lot more life hiding inside the rock as compared to fiji which deosn't have the crevases.

If Fiji rock is lighter and more beneficial then does that mean you still have to have more of it than the other  because everybody says they reccomend so many lbs. per gallon  :)

No. With Figi, scince it is lighter, the same weight of rock will give you a greater volume than with a heavier rock.
