Funny things your fish do

I've had several fish that liked to ride the current in my former 175 gallon aquarium. They would swim up, get right in front of an output nozzle, then ride the current across the length of the tank. Then they would swim back and do it again and agian and again. You could almost hear them screaming "WHEEEE!" as they shot across the aquarium.

This could very well be a sign that the fish is struggling to breath. Fish with ich in their gills will swim into the current (powerhead) to force the water over their gills...could be screaming WHEEE! or maybe screaming HELP!!

Good to know.

My yellow watchman gobie shares his hole with my 2 firefish and "protects" them ....If my seahorses swim by the hole he'll pop out at them , mouth open but never makes contact....The seahorses know this and tease him relentlessly
And in another tank , my saltwater mollies are shifting my sand to get at the algae , what was my first diatom bloom is now gone and my sand is beautiful....go figure ??

I had a bicolor blenny that would bite my forearm whenever I stuck my hand in the tank... not fingers.. the soft skin on the underside of your arm!
My maroon clown is so outgoing that when my hands are in the tank he comes looking for food. I literally have to shoo him away by touching him, he doesnt get scared.. almost like a dog or something.

My shrimp goby will grab a mouth full of sand and spit it out at you when you walk up to the tank.

also, i know a lot of cleaner shrimp do this, but when i had one he would go on my arm and clean it, sometimes it would hurt a little when he pecked at my arm really hard!lol

My Blackcap Basslet does not like hermit crabs. She will stare them down all day long. Frequently you'll see her come swiming out of the rocks with one in her mouth, spit it out and stare at it like she's saying "AND STAY OUT!"

My niger trigger likes to be petted (?) and i mean LIKES as in runs (swims) up to me when my hand goes in the tank (after feeding) and RUBS constantly and kinda hard until i move my hand to actually pet each side of him and his streamers.
granted hes only about 6" with his streamers.
Just hoping he doesnt start biting, since his teeth are coming in red finally

My snowflake and big hermit used to wrestle for food all the time. I would feed the hermit a big peice of squid and the snowflake would climb in his shell and they would roll around the sand fighting for it. The snowflake would always win but look pretty cuffed up for it.
My lunar chases his own tail, dive bomb's the substrate and literally lays right on top of my eel. Very strange fish.

My hippo tang and miniatus grouper cuddle up in my lionfish's wings. I have no idea why they do this? It seems like they may be doing it for protection but those are the toughest fish in my tank. The lion doesn't seem to mind. It usually happens when the lights are off. It's very strange.

I caught a pic of the miniatus doing it. The stingray is in on it here but he is not usually a part of the cuddling???

hahahaha. My Humu Humu trigger does the same exact thing. It also likes to be pet on its head like a dog. I can open the top and it will turn its body so that I can touch him. Its crazy. Its small so i wont do it when it gets older but right now he is like a little dog.

Not experienced enough to comment about salt water fish yet, but I do have a crazy Blue Johanni Cichlid that fights my finger when I put it in the tank... I think he thinks I am actually a subordinate fish...

Once in awhile when I put my hand in the tank my clown will flick water at my using his tail. It's like he's shoeing my away.
Usually he just bites my hands though.
