Hey, I was wondering If you could keep a golden dwarf eel in a 55 gallon FOWLR. I know they are usually expensive, but i might be able to buy it as a christmas present from my relatives. If it can be in a 55 gallon tank with other fish, what are some good tankmates?

They don't get very large but can be pretty aggressive. But those seem to be going for around 300 or better. Why not get a snowflake or similar for around 25 and take the rest of that money and get your new buddy some nice filtration, lighting, or decorations to make his home even better.
Also I've read that the Gymnothorax eels can carry a posion/toxin called Ciguatoxin.
