Just bought a Galaxia colony today. It is about 5 inches around. Right after I saw my foxface turn black, I remembered some where I heard these are horrible stingers. Could the foxface of been stung? No other fish appear affected. Fox face has lost color before, but never this bad or with when the lights are on. He is now black colorless and hiding.
SHould I keep the galaxia? The only thing with in 5 inches of it is red mushrooms and pimple mushrooms and 2 featherdusters. I have a 92 corner with alot of other coral. Tank has been up for 4 months and all water parameters are good.

Galaxia can and do sting. I would make sure they have at least 6" from any other corals. As far as the foxface I'm not sure. I would think they are too fast for the galaxia. JMO. I have had one kill a stalk of Xenia but hasn't bothered any of my fish. Had it about 16 months now.

well you've chosen one of the more aggressive LPS. I wouldn't think it could do what you described to a foxface. The coral does need generous space. If you cant provide it I'd get rid of it.
