I have tried it and it works great. I never use copper anymore. I just add Garlic to there food. This makes the fish release something in there slim coating that bothers the parasites and they fall off. Its great for fish in Reef tanks. Go to this site, near the bottom it talks about garlic

I'd like to read more about garlic. Guess you can't give the website address out, but I would like to learn more about it. Any info would be great!

It won't cure ick, but it sure will speed up the process of its removal. My 8" stars and strip puff had a massive case of the ick. Since I have a FO tank, I removed the hermit crabs and treated with CopperSafe at the recommended level. This went on for four weeks with no real change in intensity. On the fourth week, I began to soak uncooked P&E shrimp in garlic oil. Within 3 days, the "spots" were almost completely gone. Although, I treated for an additional 4 weeks after the last "spot" with coppersafe, I believe I will continue to soak the shrimp in garlic oil. The puff seems to like and I do to!!! As a side note, don NOT feed garlic soaked food to rays!!! They have a temporary alergic reaction to the garlic and turn fire engine red for about 5 min. Also, try to remove any excess oil from the surface of the food...It plays makes your skimmer work time and 1/2.
