I have had my GBTA for 3 weeks now. For the last week it has crawlled to the back of my tank where it is not getting any light. Today it looks shrivelled up and it is opening and closing. Should I move because it is not getting enought light? Also I thought anenomes need strong light so why has it gone to a place where it is not getting any? I have a 150w MH. What should I do? Thanks
:help: :help:

I do not know if you can see from the pics but it looks like its mouth is bulging out. Also specific gravit is 1.027-1.028, is this to high?

Anemones go where they like to go. Yes they need strong light, but they also need good flow. I has probley moved there because it likes the flow there. Mine has moved under a rock also He doesn't get the full blown light, but he gets what he feels he needs. There is more to the light than just the light, there is the light spectrum. that is the different colors of the light that we do not see. That is what is more important. So the specturm must be giving it what it needs even in the shaded areas. Trying to move him will just stress him more. The only time you move an anemone is when they are in danger, i.e. going to get sucked into the powerhead. Have you tried to feed him yet? How is he eating? If he is eating, then don't worry to much, he is just adjusting to him new enviroment.

Last time I feed him was last week. I will try to feed him again. I just added a skimmer to my tank. Do you think the change in water quality could be doing it to him? Also he has been in my tank for 3weeks

I am pretty sure he is not bleached. Also he just started looking like this today. Yesterday he looked great. So I do not know what has happened.

When an anemone is dying, they start to melt. It is a very gross looking thing, That picture doesn't look like it is melting. You said it looks like it stomach has come out, did you notice alot of stuff in your tank, i.e., black looking vomits slime. that is what it will look like. I just think it is stressed. Let him settle down, and keep an eye one him. and try to see if he will eat a little food. That is really all you can do at this point. He will decide whether it want to fight it, or surcome to it. Sorry to be blunt. I hope he does feel better.
OH, one way to tell if it has turned out it's stomach, is the mouth will be wide open. You will almost be able to see the inside of the anemone.

Great news!! I just gave it a few small pieces of silverside and it ate them. :joy: I will just keep an eye on it. Nothing gross was coming out of its mouth and when its mouth was out it was closed. Do you think it will be okay?
Thanks for all you help mandrin and aqua.
