ge silicone 2 warning !

i was at hd last night to get silicone, when i read
the tube it said (new biosphere )prevents mildew !
it was my under standing that that kithchen and bath
was bad because it contained these chems. luckily
they had some older tubes. any body have input?

i saw another ge silicone and it said good for marine above the waterline so i am guessing it is not good for making the seal in the walls/corners of an aquarium

If I remember correctly GE SiliconeII is a total different animal from the orig GE silicone.
Uses ammonia for curing I think rather than acetic acid (vineger) like the orig.
I have used the orig clear GE silicone to build several small tanks and to recaulk older tanks. never had a problem. Just make sure it does not have any anti mold mildew additives.
Maybe check out GE's website for aquarium use before ya do it.

Man you scared me, I just used a tube of Silicone II WIndow and Door on my Reef tank, It says 100% silicon on the package and didnt mention Bioseal on the label but to make sure I called GE and they said if it doesnt specify Bioseal on the label then its NOT in the product. Just thought I would give you guys a heads up.
