Come on. A fiscal Conservative would NEVER lie about something regarding the opposition:

Geithner falsely claimed on “Fox News Sunday” that the president’s proposals to slow Medicare growth are “not shifting costs to seniors.” There are four proposals that would increase costs to some seniors by $32.9 billion
over 10 years, beginning in 2017, including higher premiums and new fees and surcharges.

Geithner exaggerates when he says the ratio of spending cuts to tax increases is “roughly 2 to 1.” The administration’s $3 trillion in “spending cuts” includes more than $800 billion on two wars financed by deficit spending and already set to end, and tens of billions in new or higher fees and surcharges described as “reforms.”

So this guy throws this out saying he was told to lie, yet there's no verifiable proof the conversation ever occurred. Do a Google on the topic, and the only sites that mention this "conspiracy" are right-wing based fringe groups, blog sites, and news outlets So me an unbiased source that can validate this supposed conversation, then I'll believe it.

Oh yea. The UK's version of Fox News is a reliable source. All they did is pick the story up on the wire and re-printed it. The entire story is nothing more than a "he said" unverifiable dig at a Democrat opponent. If it was turned around and Pfeiffer claimed Geithner said "HE LIED" statement about some Republican agenda, you and your other Stooges wouldn't say a word about it.

Or

"Maybe more damaging, Geithner accuses Pfeiffer of asking him to lie on a Sunday show and say Social Security didn’t contribute to the deficit, again to placate the Democratic base. “It wasn’t a main driver of our future deficits,” he writes, “but it did contribute.”

I guess Salon dot com went right wing?
Maybe if these left wing imbeciles watched Fox News they would be better informed.

What part of "he's the one making the claim, yet has no verifiable proof it was said", don't you imbecilic NeoCons seem unable to comprehend? You do realize that "informed Fox News watcher" is an oxymoron? LMFAO. Every show on Fox News is a glorified reality show. The only reason they have such high numbers is because these retired grayed-haired lemmings have nothing better to do with their time but play shuffleboard, dominoes, and listen to half-baked conspiracy theories by idiots like Hannity and O'Reilly. That station brings such intelligent scholars lie Sarah "I read lots of things" Palin, and ditzy Elizabeth "I got buck naked on a stupid reality show to try and win a million dollars" Hasselbeck. Pretty much explains your mentality level.

In his memoir, out today, former Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner says the White House wanted him to mislead Americans about the long term costs of Social Security
'I objected when Dan Pfeiffer wanted me to say Social Security didn't contribute to the deficit. It wasn't a main driver of our future deficits, but it did contribute,' Geithner writes
Early reviews of Geithner's book indicate that the former Treasury Secretary, who now works at a private equity firm, does not appear to have an axe to grind with Obama, giving greater weight to his recollections.
Geithner mostly uses the memoir to provide context for actions he took as Treasury Secretary from 2009 to 2013 to get the nation back on track after the financial crisis of 2008.

Yet again, it's his word over Pfeiffer's. So because he claims it happened, it actually did? You have politicians and other notables who've written their memoirs, and it's been proven context of their book was fabricated or incorrect. But keep regurgitating the same claims. The Republican Motto - "Say enough times and it must be true!"

It isn't like there's no proof of it being done on at least one other occasion. Have you noticed how Joe Gibbs has started speaking his own mind too?

And your point being? So because "he doesn't have an axe to grind with Obama" gives validity to some off-the-cuff statement he was supposedly told by Pfeiffer? If he had no animosity towards Obama or his Administration, then why mention the encounter at all? Oh wait, it's good fodder to add as a way to attempt to obtain better book sales. Got it.
