LOL...to risk...or not to risk...that seems to be the question....first, how is the clam? Clams need excellent water and excellent light...IMO if your clam is doing well, and your tank is over 6 months old, with the lights you have, you have a good chance keeping a bta....
Hope that helps you

i say go for it! they are beautiful!! and if you can keep a clam then i think you should be fine with a rbta

The best scenario would be that they are on opposite sides of tank....I think if the clam felt threatened though, it would close.....If the anemone is happy it should stay put also...

I believe carpets get very big, and from what I have read, will then eat your fish....

a friend of mine (the one that got me in this hobby -- curses --)
has a huge green carpet, I'd sat at least 10 inches in diameter (last time I saw it)
It was known to eat anything except the clown it hosted

Whether you get it small or not isn't the question...you know it will grow....
The problem is in a smaller tank, you don't have a lot of room...for the anemone to roam (if it chooses to)....W/O it possibly...(important....possibly) coming into contact with the clam.
Sorry...lol....that's the best I can offer

im just curious do they only stay on the bottom?
thankyou
Nope. I've seen anemones climb all the way up the class and find a nice happy spot on the front of the tank, where you can only see its foot LOL, In my LFS's atleast.
