I'm so jealous!!! He is very cool!!
I wanted a mantis a while back, and then decided against it; but I think I am starting to want one again!!! How deep of a sandbed do you have, and how many pounds of live rock do you have? Keep the pics coming!! :happyfish

From looking at your pics I dont' think it's a Peacock. I have seen them mislabeled in LFS's. Do a google search for "Roys List of Stomatopods." It's full of great info and pictures.
Here is my Peacock.

ya just thought maybe he doesn have good colors there is red in his tail if i could ever get a lgood picture....but wen tto that website and it looks ike a
Gonodactylaceus falcatus or Gonodactylus chiragra ........but he does have red underneth his bely....look at top picture when he was still in bag you will see the red

Depends on the species. Alot of Mantis are small and can fit quite nicely in a 10g or even 5g, but others can outgro that quickly. Just research the mantis you would like to make sure it's a good fit.

peacocks get big. mines like 6-6.5 inches and growing. but the above link to roys list gives tank size requirements.

Awsome pic! What is your camera?? And for how much (just an estimate of $$ or what you bought it for and maybe where you got it will be fine)

Good mantis for a 10g I'd say is pseudosquilla ciliata, cool looking little spearer. Most common small smasher mantis you can find is Neogonodactylus Wennerae.
Since we're sharing Peacock pictures....

Check out my 150g in the reef section. :)
