getting a new protein skimmer

question for reef expert ...
i have a cpr bak pak 2r ... but it's loud
i'd like to get a new HOB one. at my lfs, they run an excalibur HOB and it's really quiet ...
any advice ... i have a $150 budget ...

Well, if it were me, I would buy an Aqua C Remora. Granted, it's not the quietest skimmer, it's the best HOB skimmer money can buy. If you're going to spend that kind of money, you should buy for performance.
