I picked up a couple yesterday that look nice. I got them small so that I could enjoy the whole male/female transformation. I asked the lfs employee to feed them and they did. The problem was that the fish did not seem interested in the flake food that they claimed they had been eating for the whole week that they had been there. Against my better judgement, I took them home anyway. I took them because they appeared to be healthy. Hopefully I don't regret it.
They are now eating! I fed them mysis this morning and they sucked it up. What else do I feed them if not flakes? I noticed some people are not too keen on flake food. I have some Rod's Food for my DT, but I think that would pollute my QT more than anything.
Spirulina enriched brine shrimp
Emerald entree
Arctipods
Marine cuisine
Shaved salmon
Shaved squid (my fish won't each squid)
Shaved clam
*since they're young, shaving is probably better than chopping. To shave, use the smallest setting on a cheese grater. It will shave easier if it's frozen.
My clowns will even eat algae sheets broken apart in the water.
They look good, even though I can't really see them close-up. Well at least their swimming lol!
What have you been feeding them?
When are they going to go in to the Display Tank?
They've been guzzling down flakes, squid, brine, anything that falls in the water. They are not picky that's for sure. They have been in the QT for 20 days now and have 10 more left, but I'm itching to put them in already.
I know it's easy to want to get them in early, but a little patience pays off - or the clowns could have company when they get back into Qtine. I hope they do OK - they look like a good pair!
