Pretty soon I am getting a pico 3 gallon and I was going to make it a small SPS or LPS tank. Would MH or T5-HO lighting fry the coral in such a small tank?
Softies exclusively... yuma and florida rics, zoos, palys, GSP, kenyas, etc..
I also kept a blastomussa merleti colony in there for a while, but that was the only LPS I went with since they can do fine with moderate lighting.
Here's a link to some photos of mine: https://forums.saltwaterfish.com/t/317159/grabbitts-3-gallon-pico
Wow, I like it a lot. My brother has that exact same light, and I think he is almost done with fish, so maybe he will give it to me. I was planing to do Mushrooms(Yumas and Rics), Zoas(rare ones), and some LPS. How many clown gobies could I have in a tank that small?
I would really only keep one if you really want to have one. I realize this is hypocratic on my part, currently housing two ocellaris in mine, but they are temporary and unplanned, so they won't be around for long. I feel bad giving any fish so little swimming space regardless of their own size. Flricordia has a frogfish in his 2 gal (2...2.5?) though which looks great. I would reconsider with a fish of that type because his breed stays very small (I think that specific type grows to about 2.5 in. max) and they're a pretty idle fish (sit-and-wait predators).

What about a Hawk?
Definitely not. Hawkfish are far too active to be kept in a three gallon. Not only would it be very cruel to try and do so, but it would also most likely end up carpet surfing in a very short amount of time.
