Getting into SPS

Honestly, unless you go heavy SPS, you should be fine with constant water changes. I would up that to 10g though because I don't think 6g won't be enough to replenish the trace elements sucked up by our corals.

Yeah I'm going to do 12 gallon water changes, get a riding unit. Also since my waters good and my birdsnest is doing good I got a Montipora cap for forty dollars and its pretty big, a bird of paradise birdsnest for fifty and a Montipora undata for 10 dollars its not huge but for ten a good deal. Pics tommorow.

Your dad's bird's nest is damaged. Hopefully it won't affect the coral..
besides that, everything else looks great!
