I want to get a bigger tank, currently I have a 90 gallon reef tank, I want at least a 150 or 190+ (has to be 48" long). So I have been pricing tanks the tank I really want is the 190 48x36x25. The cost of a reef ready tank this size custom built with 1/2" glass is $945 done by my LFS with a 120 day warranty. Adding stand and fuge would cost about another $500- $600. So we are talking around $1500 not a bad deal at all.
Now I can buy a Top Fin 150 48x24x31 (non reef ready) tank with stand for $658 from petsmart adding a fuge I can build myself would cost about another $75 using a 40 gallon breeder tank. I have overflow boxes with the U-tubes and all that stuff on my 90 now, that I could use and put on the 150So I would be saving around $700 doing this.
If you were me what would you go with? My problem is though I can afford the $1500 but do I really want to spend that much money for 40 gallons more water and a 120 day warranty on that tank or get a 150 with a lifetime warranty. This is the problem with being a tight a$$ with money I want the biggest bang for my buck without spending a ton of money.
Your thoughts? Thank You!!

I'd probably go with the reef ready tank because of the extra water volume and less depth. This way, the light would be better than if it was 31" high. IMO
Merry Christmas!
