Getting prepared

Fay almost followed Charley's path. Strange huh, how some of these storms make a right turn around the Ft. Meyer's area? The most worrisome thing about these things on land are the tornados. Now THOSE are scary.
I saw a water spout a few weeks ago, it was COOL!!! I was eating breakfast and saw the familiar cloud forming. Fortunately it broke up once it hit the beach.

now that I am looking at where she is heading, unfortunately it looks like the east coast of FLA will be taking the right front quadrant of this thing.
I am guessing Tangman is dusting off the generator and air pumps

Hmmm...yeah...so....just got the power back on. That tornado that hit Wellington (Palm Beach Equine Clinic) was just literally 1/2 block from my place down the road.
I live/work on a horse farm here. Luckily we had pretty much no damage but the clinic and their barns next to it at their equine sports complex had extensive damage from it (probably saw it on the local south florida stations...news helicopters and vans were here all day).
Just goes to show how even a tropical storm can cause horrible damage! Luckily no people or horses were injured...but it's going to be a big clean up/fix.

It's heading right for me in Jacksonville, Fl. It will be here Thursday. I hope it doesn't go out over the oceon to far first or it's going to be a Category 1.

This absolutely the strangest storm in some time the way it did like a figure 8 and managed to get the whole state one way or another!

I've been in 2 Tropical storms now, one during my honeymoon and a couple weeks ago with ed. They were both lame, wouldn't worry about it.

Funny....it's lame until a tornado hits you.
I've been in multiple hurricanes here now and the damage this tropical storm did compares to a few of the bigger hurricanes (at least where the tornado hit...other areas just a LOT of rain). I wouldn't be worried about the storm itself but I would watch out for the unpredictables like the funnels that can come with it.

Now twisters those are interesting. I watched the one tear up downtown fort worth a few years ago. Another time, I was delivering a pizza and saw one go over then a few seconds later I got hit my this windsheer that pushed me over two lanes... Then after wading through knee deep water, I didn't get an effin tip!

Getting some gusts blowing in now. This thing has stalled and is moving slow so we are going to get a ton of rain. No tornadoes or anything yet. Just watching the pine trees bend over in the gust and hearing the wind blow. Most of the bridges are closed. We still have power so everything is ok for right now.
