Getting ready to buy a RO/DI filter... Need your opinions.

Hello,
I am now starting to buy equipment at a time before I start up tank.
I am shopping around for Kent-brand RO/DI filter (top line I can afford) Of course I will get extra filter cartridges on handy for immediate replacement. I question how long the product will remain in good condition after months in storage?
Second, Do I need some options such as flush kit to keep bad water dispense more roomier and conserve the cartridge? Do I need such as Kent-brand water right or such as electro-stuffs before I mix Salt into purfied water? Any other opinions should I look around before buy all of them at once?
Third, is there any difference between 25-60 GPD quality and efficient filtration? I might go for 50's GPD instead of such as 25's GPD.
One more thing where can I find AIR-TIGHT container for water to be store? (Aquarium-safe container) and How long storage time?
Thank you.

I'm not sure what you mean by "months of storage". RO membranes will be damaged if they are allowed to dry out. I guess I would buy unit when I am ready to use it. Most units today come with flush valves,if not it is a very small add-on. 25 or 50GPD depends on your water needs. What size tank will you be servicing? Lastly, why an airtite container? I make mine up and keep it in 5 gal. pails,1 for top off,1 with salt. Keep the covers on loosely to keep foreign matter out.I add nothing but my salt, check PH,get the temp. right and use.I never have water around more than a week. Oh,I also keep powerheads running in the pails at all times. Hope this helped.

If you are lloking at kent get the kent maxxima hi-s 35 gpd. Its pretty much one of the best ones they make. You should be able to find it for 200 max or less if you shop around. The membrane is fine as long as you keep it in its sealed container until you are ready to use it. There is no need to use any of these electrolyte replacements.

I also have the airwaterice brand RO/DI system. I like it very much. I purchased the system with bypass and flush valves to conserve filter membranes and keep system fresh. They have several good deals on ----, and fast shipping.
Good Luck
