Getting Rock Shipped

I was thinking of getting my first batch of rock shipped, Found some good deals on Tonga Slab rock and was wondering if having it shipped would help kill off any unwanted creatures such as mantis shrimp.. It appears the rock will ship without water, and just wrapped in paper. Will alot of the creatures die during the 2-3 day shipping process? Does anyone see any negitive aspects to this process? My main concern is unwanted and un-need hitchhikers.

The rate of death and decay is the same for good and bad critters.
Why not buy the rock from here and have it delivered overnight without the dieoff. I've not heard many complaints of Mantis and crabs from the rock sold here. There is always a chance of getting an unwanted, but it's reduced considerable with cured rock.
