I just purchased a 50 Gallon tank and i have filled it with water and have the proper slat content. I connected my protein skimmer and have checked my PH level and everything is ok, I added live sand on Sunday. Now my tank is very cloudy due to the addtition of the sand and I wanted to know if this will go away on it's own or is their something that i need to add to the tank.? Also my protein skimmer is producing bubbles like crazy. Will this also change in time once the systems cycles thru?. Any help would be great
Thanks
Mike

turn off anything that causes water movement and let the sand particules settle down, the skimmer needs at least a week or more to break in after that the skimmer shouldnt produce that many bubbles, what kind of skimmer do u have?

I dont have anything that is circulating the water at this time. All I have connected is the protein skimmer bak-pak 2r. So all i have to do is just wait for the sand to settle?

yes sometimes it takes a couple of days and while your cycling your tank you should keep your skimmer off
