We have a ghost eel in our tank. What I would like to know is can you put more then one eel in a tank? We plan on getting a 240 gallon tank. :)

No I don't, but he is about 12 inches long and as white as can be. We call him Casper. He loves to be hand fed.

i saw a ghost eel in my lfs once...very cool eel...i should have bought him, but i had noplace to put him at the time as my one tank already had an jeweled eel (which was mislabled as a snowflake)...anyways from what i've heard most eel shouldn't be put together as they are cannablistic...not sure about that species though...

So far this Ghost eel is very mellow. He is small mouthed. I think someone at one time had him and other fish picked on him. He looks like he only has one eye. One black and one white. We have some very small Damsils and he hasn't even tried to eat them. He is listed as semi aggressive. I really have become very fond of him. I have named him Casper and he is about 12 inches long. If I can find a picture I will let you know.

I think so. It looks just like a white ribbon and the ends look like the white under a blue light when the lights hit it right.

Are ghost ribbon eels hardy? I am thinking about getting one in my new 220 gallon (coming soon :D ). Also how big do they get?

They are not hardy at all, they are a color phase of blur ribbon eels.If it is eating then he should be alright, but most die because they will not eat.

I was just reading your other post, don't even think about getting another eel,or any other fish until you get the bigger tank.

dasnake are you talking about me? I have a 250 gallon tank(it wouldn't of gone in there), and I am setting up another tank pretty soon, a 220 gallon tank. I know those size tanks are ideal for eels.
