It sounds to me like One or all of the other damsels are harrassing him to death. Are they?

not at all, his tank mates act like he doesn't even exist. But recently, his fin got caught in the filter and I had to take him out with the net. Does this sound like stress?

Just noticed- when ever he is on the floor he starts tipping over but he tries to fight it and gets up. do you think he's gunna die?

:help:
edit- now hes laying on his side
hyperventilating should I take him out before he dies?

it could be internal parasites, thats my guess from what hes doing. If it is internal parasites, the reason for his behavior is because he cant controll himself. Thats my guess hopefully others will chime in soon. Good luck

Since your tank is still new, what are your water parameters. Kinda need to no that before anyone can help you out.

Sounds like marine velvet, I had a keyhole that died & did the same thing & I'm sure he had it, it didn't affect any other fish in my tank but it can. Just keep a close eye on them. Marine velvet can hit fast & leave little time to medicate if any. Im no expert but I had a simalar experiance. Beth is the expert, always listen what shes says she knows whats shes takling about
. What are your water parameters? Bad water can do funny things as well.

Yes do a water change try 5 gal, then test the water. Your trites are way to high anything above 0 is to high trates are are high as well. Your tank is must still be cycling or going through a mini cycle from adding all those fish at once. A 20G tank is hard to keep stabil you should only add one fish at a time to give you tank time to adapt to the bio load. Your hight levels can cause high stress a death.
