Okay, I am not politically inclined at all. I am Canadian with a green card. Sure I could become a citizen, but it's my own way of avoiding jury duty... yes I am THAT person.
But enough, how does someone like me become involved? Is it only me that feels like their Mommy and Daddy have been elected and are making choices for us and we have no say?

You can donate your time, but not money to campaigns, apply for dual citizenship so you can vote, raise heck on message boards etc.

On top of that they would also get some monetary assistance. Basically welfare. http://www.breitbart.com/article.php...show_article=1
Huh?
The article mentions 17 Chinese Uighurs of the 20 people proposed to be released.
In what way are those 17 possible terrorists? In case you haven't investigated it, the Uighurs are actually on the side of freedom of religious expression. All they want is the freedom of speech and religion which the Chinese gov't doesn't allow them.
The remaining three people could be a serious threat to us, however. We'd better keep close tabs on them.
What were their names again?
You saying the Uighurs don't engage in terrorism? I don't want them here is there is a possibility they are terrorist sympathizers. I don't know what they were doing in Afghanistan or Pakistan where they were captured but just because we didn't have the evidence to prove they were terrorists that doesn't mean they aren't. If no other country will take them, and so far that seems to be the case, they should be turned lose where we found them unless they want to take their chances back in china.

It also doesn't mean that they are. That is the exact logic that may or may not have taken any freedom they had.
I thought Obama signed a bill that prevented the release of these detainies into the U.S.
Also what the story doesn't say is some of the Chinese Uighurs have already been transfered to The Bermuda area......So these people are not the one's they are referring to when they state they may release some into the U.S. The Chinese Urghurs still in Gitmo are most likely going to be freed into Germany and possibly France as well...
So, who is it they are talking about releasing into the U.S.?
Remember people, there is always more to the story than what is being reported on....the story leaves you to believe those they are implying of release to be the Chinese Urghians....when that is not the case.......

I don't know. Terrorism against whom? I seem to recall a NOW classified as terrorist person whom we once supported.

Yah. They must be guilty as charged. They may not.
G'head and run with that pair of scissors.

They were supposedly living in terrorist camps in Afghanistan. That might not prove it in a court of law but would certainly raise enough suspicion I wouldn't want to see them released in this country. Fact is the only reason they are still at club gitmo is our government is afraid sending them back to China would not end well for them and no other country will agree to take them in either. You want them living next door to your?

Like I said, if there is no reason to suspect them why are other countries refusing to take them in as well? There are many other muslim countries, and non Muslim where they could have moved to if they were simply seeking to escape religious persecution in China. Why choose the country that at the time was probably the most rampant with terrorist activities?
