I have a 75 gal. fowlr. The tank is about 4 years old and well established. My problem is that I grow alger like crazy. The strange thing is that the algea doesnt grow on anything except the glass. The algea is kinda like a green film. Can anyone give me ideas on why this is happening or what I can do to correct it. Thanx :help:

I havn't checked the phosphates but I would think that if they were high that the algea would be growing everywhere and its only on the glass. I keep my water temp at about 78-90 degrees and I only have my lights on for about 7.5 hours. I am having to clean my glass everyday.

I think you meant 78-80 degrees. Have you check your nitrate?? It promotes algae growth. Have you tried those magnetic pad things that cleans your glass inside and outside?? Can't remember what they're called. They work great!!! They're magnetic and one goes outside and one goes inside and you just drag it around and the pad inside cleans your glass on the inside. Good Luck! :happyfish
