Glass Baffle, I'm baffled

How does it work to keep the inverts or fish from going where the shouldnt? I am making a sump and am going to have the water come in from the top of it, go Over BioMedia, held by eggcrate, thn through a baffle, should it have slots cut in it? and into an algea/DSB area, then back through a baffle and into the pump and back to the tank? Sound ok, well I think it does, how do I hook up the overflow to a pump so that it will regain siphon if lost? I see it on the cpr ones, does it need a pump all to itself?

Josh,
Try searching this board for refugium plans, instructions, etc.
Re: the CPR overflow - You can dedicate a new venturi powerhead for maintaining suction, or buy/DIY a venturi conversion for an existing pump. Personally, I have one a circulation venturi maintaining suction in one of my overflows and I've converted my sump return pump in the other.
Hope this helps
