Glass baffle question?

When using acrylic baffles, people often put teeth in the top to keep snails and macro algae in the fuge. When you use glass, does this cause a problem not being able to notch the top?

I thought of that but I have never seen a picture of any doing it so I wasn't sure it was necessary.

In my DIY ref. I just used a straight peice of glass for my baffle and it works great! Your
friendly aquarium manufact. do it to justify their HIGH PRICES!!!! Ha Ha!! Nice to have but,not really needed.
