i have both. if i were to do it again, i'd go glass. that's just me coz i am not as careful as some others so i scratch my acrylic tank a lot.

Acrylic is lighter, stronger, and has a clearer view. It is also extremely easy to scratch and is Much more expensive. I would just go glass if I were you. Acrylic is just not worth it in my eyes.

I like glass. I realy don't see to much of a clearness difference between the two and glass won't scratch as easy.

There is a difference in clarity, but that can be overcome with a better quality of glass used in making the tank....Acrylic is lighter, stronger and insulates better, but also scratches easier......I prefer glass, but acrylic is just as sweet just not for me

If you ever have to scrape the sides with a razor (and you probably will) there is a lot of care in involved with the acrylic so you don't scratch it.
Sure, acrylic is lighter - but have youy ever seen anyone carry a full fish tank and how often are you going to have to move a fish tank anyway?
