Acrylic is lighter weight and usually does not have
the tirm along the top and bottom.

Glass is cold to the touch when empty in a room. Acrylic feels like plastic. The "edge" of glass will almost always look blue, acrylic is clear. Glass is heavy, acrylic is light. It's incredibly easy to tell the difference, describing how to is a bit more difficult.
Don't scratch your tank!

When nobodys looking lean over and ask it if it is glass or acrylic.
Glass tanks usually have a plastic rim around the top and bottom, acrylic tanks usually do not. Check the seams for silicone also, this is a sure sign that its glass construction.
