Glass top or no glass top?

hey psycho,
splashing really wasnt a problem in my tank and if you look at my pics, my light was way high. i wasn't too concerned about creep either, i would pic it off from time to time though.
what was kinda 'psycho' was how i had the light switch for my actinics dangling over the water. this worked fine for years, but i am a little older and wiser now and if i had the same thing right now i would cut some balloons and pull them over the switches to seal out moisture.

Don't use them. Evaporation will be greater, but that's really no big deal. The glass tops will decrease the light getting to the tank. Why spend big money on lights to keep corals alive and then block part of that out?
