Glass tops vs no glass tops

definatly now. not only are they FREAKIN EXPENSIVE, but they restrict gas exchange in your tank, and if you have none or too little, if could kiss everything in there. if you have a reef it also cuts down on PAR.
if you have fish taht jump out, get eggcrate. if you have a reef and florecent lighting (pc, vho, t5) but NOT MH, get eggcrate where the parts are triangles, point facing down, this will increase the amount of light that enters the tank that can be used for corals.
i vote a big hell no.

any lumber yard, or home improvment store. I have glass tops on mine and I love them. I don't have to use my heater all that much. The glass tops helps to seal the heat in but alows some of it out the back to keep it from overheating.

Glass tops hold in moiture. And if you have a wet.dry, that helps in gas exchange. I have them, and only lose a half a gallon every 2 days because of them.

YOu can still get the gas exchange if you have gaps in the back of your tank where all the equipment goes so i vote glass tops.

Glass or acrylic covers also leads to salt creep. I have no use for em. If the tank needs something over it to keep something in, its egg crate for me.
