I usually use a razor blad to scrape that crap off and then I use fresh water with a clean wash cloth that I use just for this and some ellbo grease and it comes clean just like new. The razor blade will take off about 99.9% of the crap on the glass. I clean mine once every two weeks

Be very careful using a razor blade on your glass. You can scratch it very easily. I know from experience!!

Make sure you use a new razor blade evertime. The chances of scratching are very slim with a new blade.

I disagree and have the tank to prove it!!! I will never touch my tank with a razor again.

scott270,
I would guess that cleaning the glass tops more frequently would take care of it.
My experience with the glass tops was just saltspray, white crystals that just rinsed off with running water and a brush of my hand.
Removed them and rinsed them off every Saturday morning during routine maintenance.
Any green smelly stuff that is on there must have been on for some time ?
Maybe try cleaning them a little more often if necessary. Maybe.
