Gliderjohns Whale Trip

Ok gliderjohn is my husband and some of you have read about his wonderful adventure snorkeling with whales. I just thought you should enjoy the vacation from my perspective.
Ok, John leaves and my best friend flies in from CA, things are looking good. Next day protein skimmer on 46 gallon quits working, next day canister filter quits. I fix canister filter, skimmer still not working. Next day canister filter quits again

. I try adjusting skimmer, tube comes off and floods living room, dripping into basement on top of my sons bed. Finally a local reefer comes over and spends a couple hours getting everything fixed.
Finally all is well, so I go to the basement to feed the fish in the frag tank, put my hand in the water and ZAP, not a little tingle, full blown electocuted with an exit mark on my hand. The light over the sump had fallen in the sump which is looped to the tank that I put my hand in.
And that is John's vacation from my point of view.

And this is what I came home to......

And what's worse, we spent yesterday working on fixing the frag tank, and doing water changes and cleaning up the QT tank.
Just as I was finishing up with the QT, she put her hand in it and got zapped again!!! This time she had rubber soled shoes on, so it was more of just a tingle.....So we started unplugging items one at a time to determine the source of the stray voltage.
Since she had already been zapped, we figured she might as well continue to be the guinea pig. Fortunately the heater was the 1st thing we tested and that was the problem. So no more zaps!
I'm quite glad she lived to tell the tale....

BTW - I have all the electrical on the frag tank connected to a GFCI, as I do on all my tanks.
