Glue for attaching corals.

I have a branching hammer I need to attach. What do I need to have to do this? And should I attach it directly to the live rock?

They sell super glue for this application. You take the coral out of your tank and the piece of LR you want it on. Wipe it off at the part you want to glue to dry it put some on let it sit for 45 seconds and put it back in your tank. If the LR you want to put it on cannot come out you can use reef putty too. Not sure if you can use the super glue under the water or not.
Before I permenatly affix any coral to any large pieces of my LR I always try to position it where I want it first for a few weeks just squeezing it into a hole, to see if everything looks good and there is no fighting. Then once I am positive thats where i want it, I glue or putty it in place. 9 times out of 10 I have found that you move your coral at least once before you find its "spot".

yea ive already moved it around a few times over the last 3 weeks. I dont think I will be able to get that piece of rock out that I want to attach it to. I guess I will have to go with the reef putty. I also have a green leather thats attached to a big turbo snail shell. Will he eventually attach himself?

Make sure that it is the super glue gel. This lets you have a little more control over the glue. Really sucks to glue your prized coral shut....

Super Glue GEL works for me, even under water. I also found some 2-part epoxy paste at Home Depot. It cures under water too. It's called PC-11 Marine Power Epoxy Paste.

When you say "Super-Glue Gel" do you mean like the regular superglue brand, or is there a saltwater specific called this. I have a 2 part marine epoxy from home depot, but I dont think thats the way I want to go.

Just regular super glue gel, I use loctite gel control. I would use a saltwater epoxy though depending on how big it is, super glue may not hold it.

super glue was original made for surgeons to use for threadless suctures so its all safe. some of the other stuff I wouldnt trust but the super dlue brand has been used for years for frags along with the loctite is another thats been widely used.
