I purchased a 2 spot goby on sat and when I woke up mon. morning my nassarius snail was having dinner on it, are these compatible or did my fish most likely die overnight and mr snail was helping get rid of the body?

The snail was just doing what it does best, cleaning up. Your fish probably didn't acclimate well and in the morning is usually when I find out.
