Does the YWG come out more after becoming established? Mine hides a lot and I'm afraid he may starve because he doesn't seem to be getting a lot of food. How big do they get?

Both lfs that I go to have ywg's that they've had for years and are almost 3" long.
Mine goes back and forth on hiding or not but oddly whenever I get out the camera he's front and center or if I get my face really close to the tank (like 2-3" away) he's right there. kinda odd
I'm not sure on the star I have another thread trying to find out.

That star is a linkia multiflora i have one too and he's awesome.
