God I hate buying cars . . .

I've been car shopping for the past couple of weeks. Time to get rid of the BMW 530i. It's out of warranty and we need more room. We are getting a Toyota Highlander Limited. My wife wants an SUV on a car frame and this thing drives great.
At this time, it looks like I'm going to get it for $300.00 over invoice. Not too bad really. Now I've got to get what I want for a trade-in. I just don't have time to sell it myself and it's had a few problems so I really don't want to unload it on anyone.
I hope to have the deal closed by this weekend and enjoying my new car! Well, my wife will be enjoying it. I just can't step down from a Corvette to the Highlander for my daily driver.

ditto, I can't stand it either. It just takes the fun out of a new car until its in your driveway. A friend of mine has the highlander and loves it. But now with the miracle of the internet, we all have access to a lot of good info.

Do what I did and just factory order. Get exactly what you want with all the features.....so you don't mind paying for it.

Yeah, that would be a correct statement also

Beth,
It has everything we want. It's just buying the car that's a pain. The internet has made things much easier though. I think we will probably try and buy it this weekend. I know I've got to go through the old jerking me around about my trade in. My wife have already agreed that we will not take a dime less than Kelly Blue Books says it is worth.

ah yes car buying.. my favorite sport
check out www.carbuyingtips.com he has some great info on the site and some scams to avoid. worth the read. saved me about $8,000 on my new Ram 1500 Hemi. Also check NADA value and blue book on your trade. you will see NADA is higher. GO in saying you want that for the trade in but let them shaft you down closer to blue book. I was able to get about $2000 over blue book on my trade in as well. many times the dealer gives you a great deal on your new car price but shafts the money oback out of you with the trade in.. knocking $2000 off the new car means nothing if they give you $2000 less then your trade is worth!

I love haggling over buying a vehicle it is so much fun! I was buying a truck one time and there was a $100 difference in what we agreed to.I started to get up and leave and the lady selling me the truck says are you gonna let $100 keep you from buying this truck.I turned around and said are you gonna let $100 keep you from SELLING me this truck? I was heading for the door and she comes running after me when she figured out I was serious.Well that $100"mistake" ended up costing them $500.00 as I got that much more off the truck when I accused them of trying to rip me off. I still get christmas cards from that lady.

OH, believe me. I know the game very well. I'm a very savy car buyer and I get what I want or I walk. It is fun sport, I'm just too busy these days to enjoy it.
When I bought my Corvette, no one with a hundred miles were selling them for under MSRP. I managed to work a deal for $3500 under and got over Trade in on my WS6 Trans Am.

My boss is the ultimate car haggler, he buys a new very high end car every yr, keeps it a yr, dirves it less than 1000 miles, and resales it for 30 to 40 thousand more than what he pays for it... but any way , have you seen the new bmw 6 series, he has one it is really hot!
